Life for Toby and Ven has settled down into a new ideal; half of every week with Toby’s girls and the rest of the time to themselves. When Brenda’s parents come to take the girls for a weekend, it seems like the perfect time to relax. But what Toby’s disapproving father-in-law has to say brings [...]
Anah and I have been hard at work on Pandora Project’s second novel: Parallax. I think it’s almost finished — maybe by the end of the week — except for the usual revisions and editing.
4th & Honesty is due at the end of the month, but with everything going on with my knees, I’ve had [...]
While You’re Not Fooling Anyone When You Take Your Laptop To A Coffee Shop: Scalzi on Writing [Amazon | Barnes&Noble | Subterranean] didn’t tell me much I don’t already know about writing or publishing, the realization that I already knew all the key pieces of information Scalzi was offering as someone with a decade of [...]
Parallax is past 50,000 words now, and Anah and I are talking over what new Space Trash story we’re going to write for our LJ Day on Thursday. I’ve gotten nowhere on 4th & Honesty — it’s hard to focus on solo writing when my knees hurt so much.

Writing for the Teenage Market [Amazon | Barnes&Noble] was something I picked up on impulse from the library last week. I knew it was a fifteen-year-old book, and so a lot of the information would be out of date, but I was curious anyway.

Barbie tapped the ice to get the puck, but Crake ignored the signal, shooting on his own instead. Jay dove for it, slamming down onto the ice on one knee and falling onto his side to come up with the puck.
“Not fast enough.” As he pushed himself to his feet again, Jay’s knees protested the [...]
“OIL CHANGE is a romantic story about self discovery that will grab your heartstrings and pull so hard that it will leave you heart sore and wishing for more of Denny and Sully.”

Several stories have followed the men as their relationship began and then quickly deepened. Things between them have been mostly smooth sailing up until now, and [...]
I actually wrote this on Friday, May 8, intending to post it last weekend, but then the incomparable Elisa Rolle posted her review of the book and I didn’t want to clutter Mick’s inbox with review announcements. So, a week late, here it is:
Times Queer [Amazon] was an uncomfortable read, but I think that is [...]
Let’s see… I got another page or so done on “4th & Honesty” and Parallax is at 37,000 words. We’re looking at a June release for the Renovations print collection (with bonus novelette), something I’m very excited about.
Speaking of Renovations, Renovations 4: Full House got a lovely review from Emily at Rainbow Reviews here.
Val at [...]
